So i got a wii. HELP! and my thoughts

Now growing up in the 90's and 00's by technology means i get an electronic and i just know how it works. But going from the ps3 and 360 to the wii is a wee bit confusing.

Apparently i have to join a Nintendo Club online in order to get a number or whatever it is you get. It says i need to get a code of some sort from my wii box but i typed in many codes on this box and non of them seemed to work and this Wii is knew. Everything i seem to do seems to be more complicated then it has to be.

Also turning it off im still a bit sus about now i know i could read the guide but id prefer to ask. When i press the on/off button the console will turn off but only to a orange light not a red light. So ive been plugging in and out the back to get the red light. Is there a real way of turning this off? Ive tried holding the button like the ps3.

Wii games are meant to be cheaper then the other consoles but games like Mario Party 8, Zelda Twilight princess, Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Wii just to name a few are expensive as hell. And this just in stores but even online. So what are some good games out there i should get?????

I bought Red Steel 2 for $50 because it came with wii motion plus so it was a bonus. And the consoles are very alien to me. Holding the joy stick in one hand to move forwards and around and using the wii controller in the other hand to turn directions. It is also very strange to use combos with the different controllers. I am liking the challenge though.

Wii sports is defiantly heaps more fun then i thought it would be. My muscles in my arms and hands
have been sore since xmas night. I have just been playing bowling, golf and baseball non stop but the wii fit section in wii sports seems pointless. They didnt ask for my age, height or weight yet they can still judge my age based on how well i do. I got like a 58 age rating the first time i did it but what if i was 58 and very active but shit at wii haha.

The number thing for the Nintendo Club youre talking about, im pretty sure is the number on the back of the small red Nintendo booklet that comes with all first party nintedno software, and the consoles. You join Club Nintendo and redeem these codes to earn points. You then spend these points on cool little colelctables like playing cards and mario face towels.

Games on the other hand... I dont really like many Wii games, but aside from Red Steel and Madworld, I think the only very decent ones are all the first party ones; Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong etc. The new Donkey Kong is awesome, and Epic Mickey is surprisingly enjoyable. I dont really like the Zelda game on Wii though, becuase it seems they were trying to implement too many of the gimmicky Wii controls into the gameplay, instead of just keeping it classic and fun. Also, Goldeneye 007 is full of fun for a Wii shooter, which I was pleasantly surprised with, and actually has some online value.

yea i figured out the nintendo wii club. You think i would of gotten some free "stars" with my wii console. But there was a tiny little note thingy in the Mario Kart box with a code on it for 500 points. There are not many games that come with these codes though as it says on the wii club site.

So people should give me the codes so i can get stuff

Well, i got 750 points with my Wii last month? Strange you didnt. Yeah, not many games come with codes, and you can only put in the codes once for each game. For example, a 'friend' of mine was feeling cheeky and happened to realize that in, say Target, the codes are inside the openable cases on the shelf, and one can simply open them and take them as he/she desires. My 'friend' did this, only to discover that while they acquires upwards of 20 codes, they only got use out of two of them as they were all from the same games. But hey, the moral of the story is, dont steal more than you need... which in this case, was one code from each game they didnt already own.
