| Anyone else looking forward to Little Big Planet 2?
The first is my favourite game on the PS3, and the sole reason I purchased one, so of course im looking forward to this. However, im not without concerns. Is it just me, or does it seem like its focusing way too much on player creativity for unique level designs and stuff? I want the game for the pure platform enjoyment the first offered, not these strange racing and shooting mini-games that can be created. Of course I can just ignore them, Im just hoping the dev hasnt focused too much on these and less on improving the core platform gameplay of the series.
Thoughts? | |

| I have the first one after getting PSN Plus a while ago and to be honest it is boring and I haven't played too much of it. So LBP2 is not on my priority list to be honest. | |

| Yeah I loved the first one and it was the first game my wife (who cant stand games) actually requested to play. I know what you mean Laxman, I never got into the creative stuff for the first one, no where near enough patience. I expect there will be a variety of levels this time around but hope platforming is the bread and butter. Im also interested to see how they are using the move in the game. | |

| I played the first one, and it was fun, but a Squal....I REALLY don't see the need. Wasn't one of it's selling points 'infinate user created levels'? What, are we adding another infinate batch? | |

Personally, I think it's trying too hard in vain to be Minecraft.....LOL!!!!!!!!!! In all seriousness, a sequel does seem a bit obtuse when it already relies on player generated content. On the other hand, I hear that LBP2 has a plot. O_O.....yeah.

| The plot of the game is void. But it does actually manage to make the games progressive levels a little better, giving a sort of reason for the strange environments and wacky levels.
On the other hand, its good to see that all of the player-created levels of the first game have been brought on over and are fully playable with the new game. Actually, now that I think of it, due to the uncannily similar graphics and well, everything, its essentially a really, really, really big expansion pack for the original game. Its just the same thing, with a lot more little things...

| So they're keeping all the levels from the first game, but adding in new stuff for the second game. As I understand it theyre adding non-platforming game options such as races, shooters, etc. Any chance Fighting Game will be in that batch? | |

Well, its still all 2D, but with new gravity and control options that you can tweak in the creation mode, you can pretty much do anything. It just allows you to make top-down shooters and racers and such. I played one on the first day that someone had made, it was a top-down Zombie shooter that had you controlling little circle things with big noses, and shooting Zombies with big noses while trying to get from point A to B. Pretty good for a day 1 game I think. But I dont see any fighting games coming out of it given the same old gameplay with just allows you to smack one another and grab on to stuff, and from what I know, you cant give teh Sackthings healthbars.

| You don't have to, just mimic the first game, Street Fight, where the sackboy and whatever-enemy smack each other back and forth trying to knock the other into an open 'man-hole'. | |

| Oh, I didnt actually think of that. Im sure there will be some great ones then, probably utilising the grab glove thing that lets you thrown other Sackboys.
Im pretty sure someone will make some sort of awesome SpiderMan map too, using the new grappling hook dealy.

| .....I'm buying it as soon as a decent Spidey map comes out. You heard me, I'll be skeptical untill an awesome Spider-man map is made. I'm THAT big a fan. | |
